Robin Elwes has been Farlow’s flycasting instructor since 1988. Taught as a boy by his grandfather and parents, Robin has fished extensively throughout the British Isles and the Americas as well as in Australia, Christmas Island, Iceland, Norway, Kenya, New Zealand and Russia. His credentials include being resident instructor for the Royal Warrant Holders Associations and teaching assignments for the Game Conservancy and Lawyers Fly Fishing Club.
Robin’s infectious enthusiasm combines with the breadth of his experience to make him the ideal instructor for the beginner and the advanced alike. For him, flycasting is not only a lifelong passion but an art whose rewards are manifold if pursed with dedication and skill. To this end, his instruction encompasses everything from sorting out a tailing loop to the intricacies of spey casting. At whatever level, casting lessons are beneficial as golf or tennis coaching.
